As many of you know, I have recently written an as-of-yet unreleased story for FM as my foot firmly planted in the series. Not surprisingly, this story features my BFF the Nightlanders.

Before I post it, however, I am actually writing a counter-part story for Willow Mythos that I can post at the same time for you guys. The idea is to take a new look at the Nightlanders and set an example for how Fears can be interpreted differently within this series.

Where as my FM Nightlanders are much like the usual, that is to say they are quiet background threats, my Willow Nightlanders are lost in this world and have begun a sort of aggressive expansion to try and take their own obsessive control of the situation they find themselves in.

Think of the Willow Nightlanders as monsters in a world of monsters, a threat to the rest of the inhabitants here as they begin to cut down trees, claim land for themselves and lash out in groups against some of the smaller Altered.

I hope that after I write an origin conflict, where Slenderman finally gets them under control with a (mostly) non-violent solution, with those who remain go off into hiding far from prying eyes where they could become something totally unique to this series and used in the future by people who want to write about new types of shadow civilizations that have been spawned by the progenitors from the Fear Mythos.

I know this series is open-source with no canon, but I still feel like I should run the idea by you all and see what the reaction is to having a unique "species" of Nightlanders in Willow.

I don't want to get FM mixed in with your Willow, but the relation between the two series is so obvious that perhaps embracing it in creative ways is something that will end up adding a lot to what you're doing here.

Also, if anyone has a sense of how the two worlds could link up in the future then feel free to give your input so I can come up with a clever way of introducing them without simply using the "magic portal" style of travel.

Weeellll, since the Fear Mythos is open-source and all, pretty much anything goes, as in, you could interpret the Nightlanders (or any other Fear, really) in any way you want, and it would still be Fear Mythos.

Corvidaek, anyone?

Ragnarok
Come Day of Wrath, O Pulse l'Cie
Embrace thy fate, thine home to burn
That fallen souls may bear our plea
To hasten the Divine's return
O Piteous Wanderer, Ragnarok
Make of this day a grave epoch
Deliver the Divine, Ragnarok

I like this Idea. They seem like an interesting take on the nightlanders.

But no need to run it by us. Seriously, Willow and Fear mythoses can blend together. No reason not to. (considering my Fear blog had Socky before the Willow mythos existed.)

Spoilers:
And In the sequel that will be started once this one is finished, lets just say the Altered and the Fears will meet, and it won't be pretty.

KF (can I call you that? ^w^), the Willow Mythos is totally open to anything you want to do! No reason the Nightlanders can't be in the mix - in fact, I like this idea and think it could have potential.

Yes, Shadows, you may call me whatever you like (:

...no, Brahian, you may not call me whatever you like >.>

As for the responses, awesome.

I'm glad people are feeling the idea, I've talked to Bill (Father of the Nightlanders) and he concept as well. I'll be posting both of my stories this week!

Also, expect to see more Nightlanders popping up in the future...

...they shall be watching you from the branches of every tree, from behind every rock and even stalking you in their maze of underground tunnels designed to entrap the unprepared altered of this world

ALL SHALL FEAR THE DARK!

ALL SHALL FEAR THE NIGHTLANDERS!

All shall be dramatic when the Nightlanders take this world for their own...

Also, perhaps italics didn't emphasize it enough...

...something is wrong with this, it's subtle, I just can't quite put my finger on it.
